Foreword

I first met Scott Williams in August 1993, and from our first conversation I could tell he was dedicated to the Highland Bagpipe and it's music. During his stay in Scotland he certainly made great use of his time by getting to know the piping scene here. He has attended most of the big solo and band competitions, and he gave me his help at the Inverness Music Festival by tuning pipes for the young competitors and making sure they were in the right place at the appointed time. Scott has also been teaching chanter classes in Kiltarlity, near Beauly, and we hope this will be the beginning of a revival in piping there.

This, his latest collection of bagpipe music, is a must for any piper's collection. It has something for everyone, be it the young piper building a repertoire, or the top professionals looking for new and exciting tunes. The music is excellent, especially the reels, which have a real melody as opposed the computerized sound that characterizes much of today's music.

I shall miss Scott, his wife Maureen, and his son Zeph when they return to Nova Scotia later this year. I wish them every success in the Future.
